Re: Removal of Credit Payment Option for Visa and MasterCard Debit Cards at Woolworths Limited stores

I write to complain about the recent changes to payment options at Woolworths Limited stores. I recognize that Woolworths Limited has made a commercial decision to deny its customers access to the credit option on their Visa and MasterCard Debit Cards.

However, I am unsatisfied with the notification given to customers on this significant change.

As of 27 May 2010, there is no information about this removal of the payment option available to consumers on any of the following websites that form the group of companies owned by Woolworths Limited.

As a customer with a loyal Woolworths history, I am shocked and disappointed that Woolworths has not made any attempt to notify its customers of this significant change to payment options prior to arriving at the point of purchase. Had I been made aware of this change, I would have been in a position to make an informed decision on where I would like to purchase my goods.

The lack of adequate notification means that I have been misinformed on where I should shop to avoid paying unnecessary bank fees. Woolworths' decision to deny access to credit on Visa and MasterCard Debit Cards will impact my future shopping decisions.
